This story is based on the anime series Bleach. Although the plot of the anime follows the plot of the manga very closely, there is one plot point that readers will not understand unless they have watched episodes through of the anime, which contain elements that were not present in the manga.

Aside from those three episodes, you should be able to enjoy this story after reading the manga, I took inspiration from the anime, and there are some references that only those who watched the anime will be aware of.
