Stick-on bra cups may seem like the perfect underwear solution for skimpy clothes – or just when you don’t want to wear a bra – but do they actually work?

Do they give you a saggy cleavage? Will they stay on all day?

Three average-sized girls with average-sized boobs okay, maybe on the small side decided to find out by reviewing the best stick-on bras available to buy in the UK right now.

But the shape felt very conical, which is not generally what I aim for in the boob department. Stickiness: Let’s get one thing straight, I sweat.

I sweat a LOT. When I cooled down it did re-attach itself, but the stickiness was never quite the same and I had to re-stick myself several times throughout the day.

It did stay put all day with a lot of help but it didn’t add much shape and really wasn’t great in sweaty situations. This does involve a bit of faffing to put the sticky strips on, which reminded me of putting the stickers on those toys you get in a Kinder Egg.

It’s like wearing a proper push-up bra without the straps and looks great if you’re wanting to wear something low-cut.

It has a small amount of padding and combined with the push-up effect, definitely adds oomph.

Stickiness: This was unfortunately where the bra fell down for me… literally. To get the push-up effect and make sure the wires are in the right place, I had to pull the sticky strips quite tight, making them prone to pinging off.

BUT when my fellow bra-tester tried it, they found it stayed put brilliantly. Support: When it was stuck, the support was great.

All the lift and shape of a proper bra. Overall: 7. If you’re after all the perks of a bra, this is ideal.

One of us gave it a 9 and the other gave it a 5, so we agreed on a 7. It’s like two giant adhesive chicken fillets. The only issue is that if you peel it off to reposition, it seems to lessen the stickiness each time.

I wasn’t a fan of the shape though and from the side I felt you could see the outline of the bra. Stickiness: At first, it feels like it’s going to fall straight off, but that’s just paranoia.

As was my constant desire to touch my boobs every few mins to check it was still holding on got some weird looks for that. It actually has pretty good staying power, but because the material isn’t breathable, by around 3pm boob sweat reached its peak and with a quick jiggle, it admitted defeat and dropped off.

Sexy, huh? Support: Zero. Just don’t run anywhere.

Overall: 5. If it’s a budget solution you want, this is ideal. It’s not the best shape or fit and it makes your boobs look like the most un-sexy thing ever, but it does the job at a bargain price.

It’s a separate two-cup style, but made of foam rather than silicone. Peel off a layer of clear plastic from each cup, throw one on each breast, voila.

Removal was kind and pain-free. The cups each had a clasp in the centre which could be fastened, bringing the cups together, boosting cleavage.

Stickiness: It endured a brisk, sweaty, 1hr30 minute walk, plus a full day in the office, with a few star jumps thrown in for good measure. Got a tiny bit itchy by the end of the day, though.

Support: Because the cups were adhesive, rather than side panels, the bra covered a larger surface area, making it more secure.

Plus, because it’s a lighter fabric material, it was less weighty than the silicone ones. Overall: 8. I loved wearing this bra. It was soft, light and I’d definitely feel happy wearing it under a backless dress.

The only downside is it doesn’t look the most attractive sans clothes. All very straightforward but the removal is like taking off two massive plasters.

Stickiness: It lasted a warm summer’s day, including a rushed morning hanging out laundry and a sweaty hour bus ride. It just needed the occasional precautionary pressing of sides to ensure it was still stuck.

Overall: 6. I was very aware I was wearing this bra, which at times felt precarious and not the most comfortable.

But the painful removal proved it was stuck on better than I thought it was. Easy – just peel each separate cup from the plastic casing and stick on.

The shape is smooth and boob-like. Stickiness: Really bloody sticky. You might need to do the odd boob-squidge for peace of mind, but two of us tested this bra and both found it stayed put all day.

Support: It’s not exactly suitable for a gym session or manic sweaty rave, but for a day event or night out, you’l feel lifted and secure.

Overall: 9. The silicone cups are covered in lace, so they look a bit prettier than some of the other silicone bras. The cups are super sticky and it’s generally comfortable to wear.

Hot Shower for easy removal If you are facing trouble in removal of the remains of adhesive, then a hot shower might work for you. Black push up stick on bra and body How to care? It is almost invisible and hard to notice.

Thumbs up. The InvisiBra also claims to last for wears, which we can believe. We’re not so sure the cheaper PartyBra’s would last more than one or two wears, though.

Overall, side-stick bras look the nicest and most bra like and give the best push-up, but they aren’t quite as sticky, stable or comfortable as the fully adhesive cup styles.
